From June 7 – 11, South Asian APC member Bytes for All will unite fellow APC members and women activists alike for a joint event, funded by the APC’s Member Exchange Fund. Representatives from several APC organisations will meet in Islamabad to attend a workshop on digital storytelling and learn how to Take Back the Tech! to end violence against women. This Feminist Tech Exchange will unite 12 – 15 activist women so they can be trained to further train others in the Asian region.

The Gender Research in Africa into ICTs for Empowerment (GRACE) is a project that was initiated in 2005 with an aim to provide context specific data on how women in Africa use Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to improve their lives, barriers that prevent them from accessing and utilisation of ICTs and how they surmount these barriers. With support from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), GRACE evolved into an African network of Gender and ICT researchers involving 14 research teams in 12 different African countries including Uganda.

National Women's Summit: Women's Self-Reliant Leadership in Times of Crises

Round Table Discussion: Intersections of VAW and ICTs in the Philippines

The Foundation for Media Alternatives, in partnership with the APC WNSP, is hosting this Round Table Discussion to talk about how ICTs introduce new facets to the problem of violence against women and girls in the Philippines and at the same time provide opportunities to help end violence.

The Round Table Discussion is one of the initiatives of the APC WNSP project “Strengthening women’s strategic use of ICTs to combat violence against women and girls”. The project is being implemented in 12 countries with the support of the Dutch government’s MDG3 Fund.
